4. Replace the grating assembly on the grating motor shaft (refer to “Grating assembly").
Floppy drive Spectronic GENESYS 6 (335908-651)
Removal
1. Turn the instrument on its side as shown.
2. Unplug the power and ribbon cable from the back of the drive, note orientation.
3. From the bottom of the instrument, remove the four screws securing the floppy drive bracket to the
base.
4. Remove the two flathead screws that secure the floppy drive to the bracket
Replacement
1. Insert and tighten the two flathead screws used to secure the floppy drive to the bracket.
5. Replace the floppy drive and bracket on base and secure it with the four screws that were removed
earlier.
2. Plug the power and ribbon cable back into the connectors at the back of the drive, note orientation.
Power Supply (335901-653)
WARNING
When in operation, certain internal components, such as the lamp and Power Supply,
become hot and may still be hot when the unit is opened for servicing. Avoid touching these
areas. Failure to observe this warning may result in burns.
Removal
1. Disconnect the wire connector for the Power Supply wires from the top of the Main Circuit board.
2. Turn the instrument over and remove the screw securing the ground wire. This screw is one of the
six screws used to secure the Main Circuit board. Note how the wire is positioned through the hole
in the sidewall of the Power Supply cavity.
3. Remove the three screws securing the Power Supply assembly to the base.
Replacement
1. Insert the Power Supply into the base. Make sure the ground wire is properly routed through the
hole in the sidewall of the base cavity.
2. Insert the three screws used to secure the Power Supply to the base.
