Filter wheel is binding
Clean filter wheel
Replace filter wheel
Jumper W1 on Main board is not in place Install jumper correctly on W1
Cable from filter wheel motor to connector J1 on
the Main board is either broken or disconnected
Ensure cable is securely connected
Replace filter wheel motor
Cable from grating motor to J2 connector on
Main board is either broken or disconnected
Ensure cable is securely connected
Replace grating motor
Filter wheel motor is broken Replace filter wheel motor
Grating limit switch is malfunctioning Replace limit switch
Filter wheel does not attempt to turn
Initializing. Displays “Calibrating filter wheel
message” continuously
Grating motor is malfunctioning Replace grating motor
Filter wheel is binding or slipping
Clean filter wheel
Tighten set screw on gear
Replace filter wheel
Sample compartment door open during
initialization
Close sample compartment door
Light beam blocked Remove item blocking light beam
Lamp blown Replace lamp
Lamp cable from lamp to J12 on Main board is
either broken or disconnected
Ensure cable is securely connected
Replace cable
Optical path not aligned Align the optics
Detector unplugged or cable installed incorrectly Ensure that Detector is securely connected
Filter wheel turns, but displays “Cannot
calibrate the filter wheel” message
Instrument not recognizing changes in energy
Check cable connections
Check Power Supply
Replace Detector
Replace Main board
Filter wheel too noisy during calibration Filter wheel screw is loose Tighten filter wheel screw
Filter wheel binding or slipping
Clean filter wheel, tighten set screw (do not
lubricate)
