5.2.2 Install reader with external control unit
NOTICE!
Damage to the reader when replacing the
control unit!
Because the reader and the external control
unit are connected to each other, intermittent
replacement of the control unit can render
the old control unit unusable.
– When replacing a reader with external
control unit, always replace the reader unit
and the control unit together.
– The reader unit and external control unit
should only be replaced by a qualified
electrician Ä Chapter 5.2 “Install reader”
on page 65.

Prerequisites:
n Empty conduit for cable routing has been laid.
n Flush-mounted box has been installed.
n The reader and control unit and the reader cable are
ready.
1. Drill the holes in the wall in accordance with the drill
template.
2. Insert dowels in both holes.
3. Feed the taut wire into the empty conduit.
4. Carefully remove the reader housing. To do this, press
lightly against the reader housing from below until the
reader housing folds open to the front.
