14. Connect the reader unit to the control unit.
The communication between the reader unit and con-
trol unit takes place via a RS-485 interface:
n A shielded cable must be used for RS-485 data lines
of the reader unit and the inputs of the control unit.
n For cable lengths over 3 m, terminate the BUS close
to the cable ends with a resistor between A and B.
Suitable values are between 470 and 220 Ohm (³
1/8 W).
n Connect the shielding to earth potential at a point.
If the control unit is installed in a distribution or
flush-mounted box, only voltages below 40 V must
be present there.
