Aligning the probe
It is still possible to align the probe after it has been assembled. This
may be necessary if some points on the workpiece cannot be probed.
The alignment of the probe for the VAST probe system is described in
the following.
1 Screws in the adapter plate for VAST
Loosen the three screws in the adapter plate so that the probe
configuration can be turned. Do not completely unscrew the
screws!
Insert the probe in the adapter plate receptacle.
Turn the probe configuration until the required position is reached.
Hold the probe configuration and remove the probe from the
adapter plate receptacle.
Tighten the screws with a torque of 2Nm.
Preventing measuring errors
Measuring errors may have several causes. Answer the following
questions before starting the measurement:

Are the probing surfaces of the workpiece clean?
Is the workpiece secured against shifting?
Are the probe assembly criteria fulfilled?
Are the probe and the stylus in perfect condition?
