y axis
• Move the control panel to the drive side for y-axis travel.
The drive side is located on the right side of the CMM.

: Quill speed in y axis
F: Force which must be exerted manually against the crossbeam on the
drive side.
• Perform crossbeam travel in the y axis at constant speed.
• While the crossbeam is traveling, try to stop its movement by
pressing against the crossbeam with one hand.
Important!
You may press against the crossbeam only on the drive side.
• Do not press against the probe head and quill or against the cross-
beam on the guideway side.
The probe head, quill and crossbeam could be damaged.
