PortMirroringOverview
Portmirroringisusedtomirrordatapacketsoftheswitchport(ingressmirroringport)toan
ingressdestinationport(ingressmonitoringport),ormirrorthedatapacketsoftheswitch
port(egressmirroringport)toanegressdestinationport(egressmonitoringport).
Byusingmirroring,datapacketsowinginoroutofacertainportcanbemonitored.Port
mirroringprovidesaneffectivetoolforthemaintenanceandmonitoringoftheswitch.
TheZXR102900EswitchprovidestheRemoteSwitchedPortAnalyzer(RSPAN)function,
thatis,whenthepacketissentfromthedestinationport,thespeciedtagsuchaspriority
orVIDcanbeadded,whichprovidessupportforremotemirroring.
Note:
Bydefault,switchesdonothavemirroringportsormonitoringports.Thecorrectdata
packetsreceivedbytheingressmirroringportaremirroredontothemonitoringports,but
datapacketsdirectlydiscardedontheingressport(forexample,becauseofCRCerrors)
arenotmirrored.
