LACPOverview
TheLinkAggregationControlProtocol(LACP)isastandardprotocoldenedinIEEE
802.3ad.
Linkaggregationmeansthatphysicallinkswiththesametransmissionmediaand
transmissionrateare“bound”together,makingthemlooklikeonelinklogically.This
conceptisalsoknownasTrunk.Itallowssimultaneousmultipliedincreaseofthe
bandwidthsofparallelphysicallinksbetweentheswitchesorbetweentheswitchandthe
server.Asaresult,itbecomesanimportanttechnologyinincreasingthelinkbandwidth
andcreatinglinktransmissionexibilityandredundancy.
Anaggregatedlinkisalsocalledtrunk.Ifaportofthetrunkisblockedorfaulty,thedata
packetswillbedistributedtootherportsofthistrunkfortransmission.Ifthisportrecovers,
thedatapacketswillberedistributedtoallthenormalportsofthistrunkfortransmission.
TheZXR102900Esupportsupto15aggregationgroups.Ineachaggregationgroup,the
numberofaggregatedlinksdoesnotexceedeight.
