userrequirements.Inaddition,MAClearningcanprovideglobal,
port-based,Trunk-basedandVLAN-basedindependentswitches.
MAClearningnumberlimitMAClearningnumberlimitcancongurethemaximumlearningMAC
addressnumberbasedonglobal,port,TRUNKandVLAN.Whenthe
valueisreached,thenewMACaddresscannotbelearnt.
MACalarmcontrolMACalarmcontrolcanconguretheoutputofthecommonalarm
informationofMACfunction,forexample,thenumberoflearntMAC
addressesisexceededortheaddressisdrifted.
MACaddressxedfunctionMACaddressxedfunctioncantransformadynamicMACaddress

TheMACaddressofEthernetNICis48bits.The48bitsincludetwoparts.Therst
24bitsareusedtorepresentthemanufacturerindicatingEthernetNIC.Theremaining
24bitsareagroupofsequencenumbersdesignatedbythemanufacturerandnamedas
OrganizationallyUniqueIdentier(OUI).Thelowestbit(themostleftbitinthestructure)
isnamedasaprivateorgroupbit.Ifthisbitissetto0,theremainingaddressisaprivate
address.
Ifthisbitissetto1,theremainingaddressdomainidentiesthegroupaddressrequiring
moreresolution.IfthewholeOUIissetto1,eachsiteofthewholenetworkisadestination.
