Overview
The CELL-DYN 3200 System is calibrated at the factory just prior to shipment. An
Abbott Field Service Representative will assist the operator in confirming the
calibration during instrument installation. Calibration may be performed using
commercial calibrator or fresh whole blood samples. Only the directly measured
parameters — WOC, NOC, RBC, HGB, MCV, PLT, and MPV — may be
calibrated.
Calibration should be confirmed on a regular basis according to the laboratory’s
schedule for maintaining good laboratory practice.
On-board quality control programs are designed to provide continual monitoring
and verification of instrument calibration. The laboratory should make the decision
to recalibrate based on the performance of the CELL-DYN 3200 in these quality
control programs.
