Quality Control Guide
The CELL-DYN 3200 System offers several quality control options to monitor and
validate instrument performance while running the Reticulocyte Package. The
options are:
6 QC Files Statistical and graphical analysis of the data in each

QC files
Each of these options is discussed in detail in Section 11: Quality Control.
All QC data should be reviewed according to your laboratory’s protocol.
Control Material
Abbott Diagnostics recommends using the CELL-DYN Retic-RITE
control
material for performing quality control checks on the CELL-DYN 3200 System.
These controls should be run:
After daily start-up procedures are completed.
After a reagent lot number change.
After a service call or component replacement.
After calibrating the Standard Hematology Mode.
In accordance with the laboratory’s quality control protocol.
According to regulatory requirements.
NOTE: Data invalidating alerts, such as Fragile RBC or ERL, are not valid
when running commercial controls.
Mixing and Handling
CAUTION: When using the reticulocyte reagent, avoid contact with skin
and clothing. This reagent contains New Methylene Blue, which will stain
skin, clothing, and many other surfaces.
Reagent
Use Reticulocyte Reagent prepared only by Abbott Laboratories. Verify the
expiration date.
Store the Reticulocyte Reagent in the dark at room temperature.
Use one Reticulocyte Reagent tube for each CELL-DYN Retic-RITE™
control or patient specimen.
