12 The computer displays the selected account and description of the first field you
selected in Step 10. For example:

<Ent> = Current Value
(.) = Replace All Chosen Fields With Last Value
You can do one of the following options:
¾ Enter the new value for the displayed field and press Enter. If you are
entering a credit amount, you must also enter the negative sign. For example:
-1000.00.
¾ <UpA> = Previous Value
Once you have changed an account, the PREVIOUS VALUE is one you had entered
for the displayed field on a previous account. On the first account, the
PREVIOUS VALUE will be zero. The PREVIOUS VALUE remains the same until you
make another entry for the new value.
¾ <Ent> = Current Value
The Current Value is the most recent entry in the displayed field for the selected
account. If you press Enter, no change is made for this field/account.
¾ (.) = Replace All Chosen Fields With Last Value
Press period (.) and Enter to use the last entry you made to fill in all chosen
fields for this account.
¾ Esc = Do not make any changes to this account and return to Step 11 to select
another account.
) NOTE: METHOD 1 - End of Fiscal Year
BEG BAL = The current year’s beginning balance for the selected account. If it is a credit
amount, also enter the negative sign before the dollar amount.
METHOD 2 - Middle of Fiscal Year Using YTD Balances
BEG BAL or other accounting period = The current year’s YTD balance for the selected
account. If it is a credit amount, also enter the negative sign before the dollar amount.
METHOD 3 - Middle of Fiscal Year Using MTD Net Change
BEG BAL and other accounting periods = The current year’s beginning balance and
MTD net changes for the selected account. If it is a credit amount, also enter the negative
sign before the dollar amount.
