10. General device configuration
Risk of injury and Property damage due to improper configuration.
These instructions are directed to skilled personnel.
Only skilled personnel (e.g. IT personnel with good knowledge of PCs, operating systems and
radio networks) may configure the DLT-V83.
If the DLT-V83 is incorrectly configured, any warranty for this device will be void.
10.1. Operating systems (optional)
Please find the latest overview of all supported operating systems in the DLT-V83
data sheets on our websites.

10.2. Image compatibility of varying CPUs
Identical operating system images can be used for DLT-V83 devices with Intel
®
Core™ i5 CPU and for
devices with Intel
®
Celeron
®
CPU, the operating system images are compatible with both CPUs.
DLT-V83 devices with Intel
®
Atom™ CPU work with their own operating system images.
You can check to BIOS setup of the device to determine the type of processor.
10.3. Linux OS (optional)
The configuration of the DLT-V83 with Linux with regard to radio networks, touchscreen calibration, etc.
is described in the “Advantech Linux Manual”.
