4. Visually inspect disc for scoring, scratches, or gouges.
Replace the disc if any deep scratches are evident.
5. Use a 0-1” micrometer and measure the disc thickness at
eight different points around the pad contact surface.
Replace disc if worn beyond service limit.
Front Brake Disc Thickness
New: 4.40 mm
Service Limit: 4.00 mm
FRONT WHEEL HUB ASSEMBLY
1. Install the new wheel bearings and oil seal in the reverse
order of disassembly.
Note:
Do not apply pressure to the wheel bearing
or balls. Pressure should
only be applied to the outer
race.
FRONT WHEEL ADJUSTING AND WHEEL
STATIC BALANCE
1. After replacing the tire, wheel or both, the front wheel static
balance should be adjusted.
2. Adjust the front wheel static balance with the brake disc
installed.
3. Remove balancing weights on front rim.
4. Place the front wheel on a suitable balancing stand. Spin the
front wheel. When the front wheel stops, put a mark “1st” at
the bottom of the wheel.
5. Turn the front wheel 90° shown as left.
6. Release the front wheel When the wheel stops, put “2nd”
mark at the bottom of the wheel.
7. Repeat steps 4 & 5 several times until all the marks come to
rest at the same spot where is the front wheel’s “heavy spot”.
8. Install a balancing weight onto the rim exactly opposite the
heavy spot.
