1. Assemble arms, shafts and decompression components into
cam support.
7. Adjust valves according to the “VALVE
CLEARANCE ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES”,
Page4.39.
8. Install rocker cover and torque bolts to specification.
CAM CHAIN TENSIONER INSTALLATION
1. Using a small flat blade screwdriver, turn the tensioner
clockwise to retract the plunger (B) all the way into the
tensioner body.
2. Install and tighten rocker shaft locking plate.
Tighten to specification.
3. Apply engine assembly lube to the cam lobes and cam
follower surfaces.
4. Verify the cam lobes are pointing downward before
installing rocker assembly.
5. Apply clean engine oil liberally to the valve springs, cam
chain, rocker arms, and camshaft.
6. Install cylinder head nuts and torque to specification.
2. With the plunger retracted, install the tensioner assembly
with a new gasket and tighten the bolts to specification.
Tensioner Bolt Torque:
10 Nm (7.4 ft. lbs.)
3. Install the tensioner cap. Torque cap to specification.
Tensioner Cap Torque:
10 Nm (7.4 ft. lbs.)
4. Slowly rotate engine two to three revolutions and re-check
cam timing once chain is tight.
