DRIVE CLUTCH REMOVAL
Some fasteners and procedures will vary. Refer to the
appropriate parts manual for proper fasteners and fastener
placement.
1. Position the scooter on a level surface. Use the center stand.
Serious injury may result if machine tips or falls.
Be sure machine is secure before beginning this
service procedure.
2. Remove seat, storage box and LH plastic panel to gain
access to the outer clutch cover.
3. Remove the inlet dust screw and inlet duct.
4. Remove outer clutches cover screws and the clutch cover.
5. Remove outer sheave from crankshaft.
7. Remove belt.
6. Use two hands to hold the cam plate and the p
rimary sliding
sheave together when removing the
primary sliding sheave and
the cam plate assembly.
This prevents the roller weights from falling out of the
assembly.
8. Remove the roller weights from the primary
sliding sheave.
Check the rollers for wear and scoring.
9. Remove and inspect the slide bushings
and cam plate.
Replace any components that
found to be worn excessively or
appear abnormal.
