Measuring the Reflections from the DUT
Now detach the measurement cable from the Power Meter and attach it to the
DUT. The DUT should be terminated.
The instrument measures the power reflected from the DUT. This power is called

Measuring the Power Transmitted
Through the DUT
Unterminate the DUT and connect the DUT to a Power Meter so that the power
that is transmitted through the DUT can be measured. This power is called E

to calculate the insertion loss, see Calculating the Insertion Loss
