2.8 Radiation and X-ray Tube
WARNING!
The patients, the operators and third parties must be protected against unnecessary
X-ray radiation according to the local regulations.
WARNING!
The surfaces on the Collimator and the X-ray tube can be warm. The collimator tem-
perature will not reach 60 degrees Celsius, but the X-ray tube may be up to 85 degrees
Celsius.
WARNING!
The collimator filter must be verified so that correct filter is used during exposure.
CAUTION!
Audio and visual communication must be possible between the operator and the pa-
tient when performing an exposure.
CAUTION!
No exposure outside the active area of the imaging unit is allowed. Make sure that the
x-ray beam is not outside the active area of the imaging unit in order to prevent un-
necessary dose to the patient.
CAUTION!
To minimize the x-ray dose:
- keep the distance between the focal spot and patient as large as possible.
- and the beam size as small as possible.
