Adding and registering cordless handsets/headsets/
speakerphones
Your telephone can support up to 12 DECT 6.0 cordless handsets (AT&T model
TL86003, sold separately), or up to ten cordless handsets and two
DECT cordless headsets (sold separately) and/or cordless speakerphones (AT&T
model TL80133, sold separately). Visit
www.telephones.att.com/accessories for a list of compatible DECT
6.0 cordless headsets and speakerphones. Each new cordless handset, headset
or speakerphone must be registered to the telephone base before use. You
must register each cordless device separately.
To register a speakerphone to this telephone system, please refer to the
corresponding user’s manual for details. To register a cordless handset and
cordless headset, see below.
The handset and headset provided within your TL87203 product box are
already registered as HANDSET 1, and HDST/SPK 1. Additional handsets and
headsets are assigned numbers in the sequential order they are registered (up
to HANDSET 12, or HANDSET 10 and HDST/SPK 2).
Register a cordless handset to your telephone base
Using the telephone base:
1. Before you begin registration, make sure the handset is out
of the charger and shows To register HS, see manual..
2. Press MENU on the telephone base in idle mode.
3. Press CID, DIR, /RECORD, or /DELETE to highlight
Settings, and then press SELECT .
4. Press CID, DIR, /RECORD, or /DELETE to highlight
Registration, and then press SELECT .
5. The telephone base shows Registering... Please wait.
6. Press # on the cordless handset for registration, and the
handset shows Registering... Please wait. It takes about 90 seconds to
complete the registration process. Both the telephone base and cordless
handset display HANDSET X Registered (X represents the registered
handset number), and beep when registration completes.
If registration fails, Registration failed appears on the handset screen. The
handset then shows To register HS, see manual. and the telephone base
returns to idle mode. This may take up to ve minutes to occur. Please start
again from Step 1.
NOTE: You cannot register a handset if any other system device is in use.
