Telephone operation
Voice command
TL87203 supports voice recognition when the phone system is connected to
AT&T Softphone Call Manager installed on your computer (see page 20).
You can make calls on line 1 or line 2 (according to the line preference set, see
page 63) through the voice command (name dialing) function by using the
telephone base, the cordless handset, or the cordless headset.
Before making a voice command, make sure your desired contacts are
in the phonebook directory of the AT&T Softphone Call Manager that
is independent from the home and downloaded directories. For detailed
instructions, please refer to the Installation and Operation Guide in the
CD-ROM which comes with the package.
To make a call using voice command:
Using a cordless handset or the telephone base:
1. Press MENU in idle mode.
2. Press CID or DIR on the cordless handset, or CID, DIR, /RECORD, or
/DELETE on the telephone base to highlight Voice Command, and then
press SELECT . The screen displays Processing Voice command.... You hear
“Who would you like to call?”, followed by a conrmation beep.
3. Say your desired contact name, which is stored in the phonebook directory
of the AT&T Sophone Call Manager, to dial.
NOTES:
X Make sure the USB cable is connected to the telephone base and your computer (page 19).
X Make sure the AT&T Sophone Call Manager is launched on your computer.
X When there is an incoming call from any line, the voice recognition will stop immediately.
X To say a command again when processing, press STOP and select Voice Command again from
the menu.
X To cancel a voice command activity before making another voice command, say “Cancel”.
X If the voice command setting is set as Disable in the AT&T Sophone Call Manager,
voice command requests will be rejected.
X You can also make a voice command using an AT&T TL80133 speakerphone paired with your
TL87203 telephone base. Press MUTE on the speakerphone. You hear “Who would you like to
call?”, followed by a conrmation beep. Say your desired contact name, which is stored in the
phonebook directory of the AT&T Sophone Call Manager, to dial.
