Cordless handset and telephone base settings
Voicemail (visual message waiting) number
If you subscribe to a voicemail service oered by your telephone service 
provider, this feature provides a visual indication when you have new voicemail 
messages, Voicemail and the   icon appear on the telephone base and 
handset screens. Contact your telephone service provider for more information 
and assistance about using your voicemail service.
NOTES:
 X This feature does not indicate new messages recorded on your phone’s built-in answering system.
 X For more information about the dierence between your answering system and voicemail, see 
page 132.
Clear voicemail indication
Use this feature when the telephone indicates there is new voicemail but there is 
none. For example, when you have accessed your voicemail while away from home. 
This feature only turns o the displayed Voicemail and the   icon; it does not 
delete your voicemail messages. As long as you have new voicemail messages, your 
telephone service provider continues to send the signal to turn on the indicators.
To manually turn o the new voicemail indicators:
Using a cordless handset:
1.  Press MENU in idle mode to enter the main menu.
2.  Press  CID or  DIR to highlight Settings, and then  
press SELECT .
3.  Press  CID or  DIR to highlight Clr voicemail, and then  
press SELECT .  The screen shows Reset voicemail 
indication?.
4.  Press YES to turn the voicemail indicator o. You hear  
a conrmation tone and the screen returns to the  
previous menu. 
Using the telephone base:
1.  Press MENU in idle mode to enter the main menu.
2.  Press  CID,  DIR,  /RECORD, or  /DELETE to  
highlight Settings, and then press SELECT .
3.  Press  CID,  DIR,  /RECORD, or  /DELETE to  
highlight Clear voicemail, and then press SELECT .  
The screen shows Reset voicemail indication?.
4.  Press YES to turn the voicemail indicator o. You hear  
a conrmation tone and the screen returns to the  
previous menu.
NOTES:
 X Your telephone service provider voicemail might alert you to new messages with a stutter 
(broken) dial tone. Contact your telephone service provider for more details.
 X For information about using your voicemail service, contact your telephone service provider.
