Telephone operation
Make, answer or end a sophone call
You can make and receive calls on line 1, line 2, or cell lines, or sophone VoIP
calls by using the AT&T Sophone Call Manager installed on your computer
(see page 19).
Before managing a softphone VoIP call, make sure Skype or Lync is installed.
To make a Skype call:
Using a cordless handset or the telephone base:
X Enter the telephone number in idle mode, and then press PC CALL to dial
a sophone call.
To answer an incoming Skype/Lync call:
Using a cordless handset:
X Press /SPEAKER or ANSWER to answer an incoming sophone call.
Using the telephone base:
X Press SPEAKER or li the corded handset to answer an incoming
sophone call.
To hold a Skype/Lync call:
Using a cordless handset or the telephone base:
X Press HOLD to hold the sophone line. The handset screen displays
PC CALL ON HOLD.
X Press PC CALL to resume the call.
To end a Skype/Lync call:
Using a cordless handset:
X Press OFF/CANCEL, or place the cordless handset into the charger.
Using the telephone base:
X Press SPEAKER or return the corded handset to the telephone base.
NOTES:
X Only Skype can make a sophone VoIP call.
X Make sure the USB cable is connected to the telephone base and your computer.
X Make sure the AT&T Sophone Call Manager is launched on your computer.
X During an incoming call, the screens display Skype and Lync without any specc details about
the name and number of the caller. If the caller ID announce (page 54) is turned on, the
telephone will announce Call from Skype or Call from Lync.
X If you do not want to answer the call, press REJECT .
X To answer a softphone call with the cordless headset, press on the cordless headset.
X Missed call from sophone is logged in the caller ID log of the telephone system. Skype or
Lync is stored as the name of the caller ID log entry.
X When the ringer of PC line is o, the screens of cordless handsets and the telephone base
display PC.
X You can also make a Skype call or answer a Skype/Lync call using AT&T Sophone Call
Manager. Please refer to the Installation and Operation Guide in the CD-ROM which comes
with the package.
