Caller ID announce
To use the caller ID announce feature, you must subscribe to caller ID service
from your telephone service provider. The caller ID announce feature lets you
know who’s calling without having to look at the display. When you have an
incoming call, the cordless handset and telephone base speak “Call from...” and
the name of the caller based on the directory or caller ID information. If the
caller’s name is private or unknown, the phone number up to the last 11 digits
will be spoken. If the caller’s phone number is also private or unknown, no
information will be spoken.
The default setting of caller ID announce feature is On.
To turn on or o the caller ID announce feature:
Using the telephone base:
1. Press MENU in idle mode to enter the main menu.
2. Press CID, DIR, /RECORD, or /DELETE to
highlight Caller ID Annc, and then press SELECT .
3. Press CID, DIR, /RECORD, or /DELETE to choose
On or O, and then press SELECT . You hear a
conrmation tone and the screen shows CID Annc
ON/OFF on all HS & BS briey before returning to
the previous menu.
NOTES:
X When there are up to ve handsets registered, the telephone system supports caller ID
announce for all handsets. If six or more devices are registered, the system supports caller ID
announce for the rst four registered handsets only.
X This feature does not announce information for call waiting calls.
X It takes at least two rings for the phone to receive caller ID information and announce it. If the
phone is answered before the end of the second ring, the phone won’t have time to announce
the caller’s information.
X Pronunciation of names may vary with this feature. Not all names may be pronounced
correctly.
X When this feature is on, the telephone plays both the caller ID information and the ringer at the
same time when there is an incoming call.
X Caller ID announce is available in English only.
X If you have paired an AT&T TL80133 cordless speakerphone to the telephone base, the
TL80133 speakerphone will also speak “Call from...” and the name of the caller based on the
directory or caller ID information during an incoming call.
