Multiple handset use
Intercom
Using the telephone base:
1. Press MENU in idle mode to enter the main menu.
Press CID, DIR, /RECORD, or /DELETE to
highlight Intercom, and then press SELECT .
X The telephone base shows INTERCOM TO:. Use
the dialing keys to enter a specific handset number
(1-9 for handsets 1-9, TONE followed by 0-2 for
handsets 10-12, # for a single cordless headset/
speakerphone, # followed by 1 or 2 for cordless
headset/speakerphone 1 or cordless headset/
speakerphone 2, respectively), or press CID, DIR,
/RECORD, or /DELETE to highlight the desired handset and press
SELECT . The telephone base shows Calling HANDSET X.
The destination device(s) rings and shows BASE is calling.
2. To answer the intercom call, press 1 LINE, 2 LINE, SPEAKER , CELL A ,
CELL B , any dialing key (0-9, TONE ), ANSWER , or li the corded handset.
Both devices now show Intercom.
3. To end the intercom call, press END, OFF/CANCEL, or place the cordless
handset into the charger; or press END on the telephone base. The other
party hear four beeps. Both devices display Intercom ended.
NOTES:
X Before the intercom call is answered, you can cancel it by pressing OFF/CANCEL on the cordless
handset or END on the telephone base.
X If the called device does not answer within 100 seconds, or it is in use, on a call, or out of range,
the initiating device shows No answer. Try again. and returns to the outside call.
X To temporarily silence the intercom ringer, press SILENCE , OFF/CANCEL, or MUTE/DELETE on the
cordless handset, or press SILENCE or CANCEL on the telephone base.
X You can only use one pair of devices at a time to make intercom calls.
