Recording Options
Front Panel
Softkey 3 provides the user with information on a recording/playback file and allows the user to
execute immediate commands that will change recording characteristics.
MUTE
When the user selects this option while recording, it will mute all recordings. Playbacks will not
mute.
EVENT
When pressed while recording, Event puts a digital mark in the video file that allows a user to
skip to the event during playback; the event is shown on the playback timeline.
SNAP
During recording, Snap takes a screenshot of the current HD display content. The file is stored
as a *.jpg and will be listed and filed on the same menu and device as the video recording.
Standard definition, 4:3 aspect images may be stretched to fit a 16:9 aspect frame if aspect
ratio preservation is not enabled. The snapshot feature can be configured to either capture or
suppress DVR generated video overlays. The option to hide OSD overlays for snapshots is
available on the Main Menu’s Configure > Display page.
DETAIL
During recording, DETAIL shows recording quality, video source type, current recording length,
and the current recording's file size. The details shown apply to the line select that has focus
when DETAIL is selected. If a REC line select is chosen, record information will be shown. If a
PLAY line select is chosen, playback file information will be shown.
Event marker information can be recorded at a maximum rate of one event marker
every 2.5 seconds.
