Storage
Storage provides the user with information on the current media devices available on the
recorder. From this menu, the user can delete media files from these devices.
If the DVR detects an issue with a storage device, the device icon will appear white and show
100% capacity used. The normal Clear option will be replaced with Format/Repair. If the user
selects “Repair,” the DVR will attempt to repair the disk. If Repair fails, the disk should be
formatted. Alternatively, the user may attempt to recover the disk on a Windows host machine.
If the disk contains a significant number of non-media files or multiple partitions, the DVR will
give the user a Clear/Format option. The Format option always formats the device to a single
partition FAT32 file system.
The OSD Storage "STATE" column can show these values:
• "READY"—the disk is idle and ready.
• "PLAY"—the disk is in use for playback.
• "REC"—the disk is in use for recording.
• "PLAY/REC"—the disk is in use for both recording and playback.
• "ISSUE"—the disk is not ready for recording; a format or repair action may be required.
• "ZEROIZING"—the disk is not ready for recording; the disk is being securely erased.
• "WR PROTECT"—the disk is not ready for recording; the disk is write protected
(applicable to SD cards only).
• "LOCKED"—the disk is not ready for recording; the disk is security locked (applicable
to SSDs only).
• "IO ERR"—the disk is not ready for recording; the SATA disk controller cannot
communicate with the disk (INT or SSD). If the device in question is the SSD, remove
and reinsert. For any other device type, power cycle the DVR either by removing power
or by holding down the encoder knob for 10 seconds.
