Ethernet Streaming
The AVR8414 is capable of Ethernet streaming via UDP protocol using one or both channels.
To configure the recorder for Ethernet streaming, access the Main Menu on the OSD and
select Recording. From the Recording menu, select Setup/Start, choose Channel 1 or 2, and
select a video source. Change the Target to ETH. This enables the IP Addrand Port" fields.
Then enter the IP Address and port number of the network destination. The recorder also
supports UDP multicast addresses for streaming to multiple network destinations
simultaneously.
Ethernet Input Recording
The AVR8414 is capable of recording a UDP TS (Transport Stream) received from the DVR
Ethernet port. The DVR supports playback of H.264 compressed video and AAC compressed
audio. If the recorded UDP TS contains H.264, it should be playable on the DVR this cannot
be guaranteed unless the UDP source was another AVR84xx DVR. Playback audio will be
disabled if the TS file does not contain AAC audio. See the Main > Configure > Recording page
section for more details on configuration of Ethernet Input Recording.
When Ethernet recording is enabled, a hexagon icon with an ‘E’ inside will become available for
selection. The icon will be colored green when video is present on the UDP port and will be
colored white when video is not present on the UDP port. The icon is filled in with color when it
is selected. Ethernet input can only be recorded to one channel at a time, and a warning will be
given if recording is attempted on multiple channels. UDP TS files follow the same file naming
nomenclature as regular TS files with an E replacing the H that is used for HD files.
