Software Update
From Software Update, the user can load updates from any external storage device. To load
new software, insert an external media containing the *.bin update file, which will enable the
update menu. Then highlight and select Update. Power should not be removed until the device
has completed the software update. The OSD will lose HD display video output momentarily
during the update. The front panel will display a message that the software is updating.
Admin
The Admin menu allows the user to:
• Restore the DVR settings to factory defaults settings. This action will not remove any
media files from the DVR storage.
• Enable or disable advance logging. The purpose of advance logging is to assist Avalex
engineers in resolving customer issues. If enabled, the DVR will write an advance
system log snapshot at the end of recording session to one of the following removable
targets: SSD, SD, or USB (in that order, based on availability).
• Set or disable the OSD menu passcode for critical DVR configuration menu pages
(refer to figure 79 and figure 66A). The passcode is numeric and must be between 1
and 8 characters in length. Write down the passcode in this space:
