About this product
26 AVENTICS | Marex 3D | R417003094–BDL–001–AA
joystick is moved, the control maintains the heading of the bow
if an optional heading sensor is connected.
Thruster mode In the thruster mode, the joystick is used to control the thrusters
only. At the same time, the main propulsions can be operated by
a control head. If no control head is active, the main propulsions
will be idling with the clutch disengaged.
Heading mode The heading mode is used to automatically hold the heading to
which the ship’s bow is pointed. It can be selected in addition to
the 3D mode. This function requires data from a heading sensor.
The data is processed and used to operate the main engines and
thrusters in an intelligent way in order to correct any deviations
due to current and wind.
In the thruster mode, the thruster control and the control of
the main propulsions are completely separate. For safety
reasons, any of those drives - engines or thrusters - can be
operated only from one control station at a time. See
chapter 7, Operation, for details on the operation.
