The ship can be navigated only from one control station at a
time. The station in command is called the active station. The
others are passive stations. The command can be transferred
from one control station to another if defined conditions are
fulfilled.
Number of control
stations
In combination with Marex OS III, 6 control heads and 6 joysticks
can be installed. In combination with Marex ECS, 3 control heads
and up to 6 joysticks can be installed.
An identification (ID) which is used for the data bus
communication within Marex 3D is assigned to every joystick .
The table below gives an overview on the control stations and
the IDs of the corresponding joystick.
4.2.3 Keys and display
The Joystick Type 531 provides up to 4 keys for the operation. In
addition, it is equipped with LEDs which indicate the status of
the functions. Refer to chapter 4.3.1.2, Keypad and indicators, on
page 29 for information on the keypad of the Joystick Type 531.
The 3D Controller provides a multi-line, alpha-numerical
display for the setup and troubleshooting. Should errors occur
in the system, the display shows information about site and
cause of the error so that it can be identified and eliminated.
Refer to chapter 10, Troubleshooting, for information on the
error display.
4.2.4 Operation modes
Marex 3D provides three operation modes.
3D-mode In the 3D-mode, the joystick is used to control the main
propulsions and the thrusters at the same time. When the
