The following designations are used in these operating
instructions:

Designation Meaning
3D mode Operating mode of Marex 3D in which the joystick
controls all ship propulsions.
3D Tuning Aventics software to modify settings in Marex 3D
BCS, CMC, Side
Power
Thruster types
Joystick CAN CAN bus line connecting the control unit to the
station components e. g. the joystick.
Cross CAN CAN bus line connecting the 3D Controller to the
engine remote controls e. g. Marex OS III, ECS.
Heading mode Operating mode of Marex 3D in which the heading
of the ship is kept automatically.
Joystick Operating element for the 3D and thruster mode
Marex3D Electronic joystick control system for FPP ship
propulsions and thrusters
Marex ECS Electronic remote control system for FPP ship
propulsions
Marex OS III Electronic remote control system for FPP ship
propulsions
MPC Marine Propulsion Controller
