4.2 FIELD PERFORMANCE CHECK
4.2.1 Purpose
To provide the customer with a procedure to perform a general evaluation of the pump’s
safety and performance.
• This procedure may be used to comply with JCAHO recommendations for safety and
performance testing.
• This procedure contains a “Calibration Review” section to verify the pump’s calibration.
Refer to Chapter 5 if it is determined that the pump requires calibration.
• At the completion of the Functional Tests, check the pump’s time and date for
accuracy. If the pump’s time and/or date needs adjustment, refer to Chapter 8 as
applicable.
Calibration is to be performed by authorized trained service technicians utilizing the
procedure in Chapter 5.
4.2.2 Equipment
• Operator’s Manual
• 60 cc syringe (BD® or Monoject®)
• 60 inch High Flow Rate Extension Set: 2N3349 or equivalent
• Distilled water - as required
• Stopwatch or Timer
• Calibrated Pressure Gauge (0 to 20 psi) (optional)
• Calibration Fixtures Kit AAS4001803 consisting of the following 7 items:
1. Calibration Fixture CAS4001801
2. Calibration Fixture CAS4002801
3. Calibration Fixture CAS4003801
4. Calibration Fixture CAS4004801
5. Calibration Fixture CAS4005801 (small diameter, unmarked)
6. Calibration Fixture CAS4006801 (large diameter, unmarked)
7. Load Yoke CAS4001802
• A coin, approximately the size of a U.S. penny (one cent)
NOTE
The Load Yoke is not required to perform any of the functional tests
listed in this chapter.
