5 2-channel input module for current /
voltage
5.1 Function
The input module for general current and
voltage signals, abbreviated to GP-TIM (General Purpose Transducer
Interface Module) is laid out for two measuring channels.
Input signals of the type DC current (e.g. 4 - 20 mA), DC voltage
(e.g. 0 - 10 V), or dynamic voltage signals (-15 to +15 V) can be
processed. Selection of the desired input signal is done per channel
through the corresponding connection layout and the matching configu-
ration through the dialogue with the User-Terminal.
A GP-TIM has no sensor power available, i.e. all input signals must be
active signals.
The input module is managed internally through a Sensor(A/B) block
(Firmware), i.e. GP-TIM and Sensor(A/B) block together form a physical
interface between the VIBROCONTROL 6000 Compact monitor and the
outside world. The measured signal from the connected sensor is
acquired and made available to the signal path for further processing
and evaluation.
A GP-TIM combines the following hardware functions:
Diffential input amplifier
Input selection switch
Signal amplifier
LED signalling
