2.7 Networking
Depending on the intended application, different panel controllers and remote keypads can
be divided into groups and defined as network nodes or local nodes. As a rule, within any
given group, only the status of control panels within the defined group can be displayed. The
status of all control panels can be displayed and/or processed from network nodes,
irrespective of the group to which the panels belong.
The following connection topologies can be used for networking via the CAN1 and CAN2
interfaces:
–Non-redundant bus via CAN1
– Redundantly via the CAN1 and CAN2 buses
– Redundantly via CAN1 and CAN2 as a loop
The rules that must be applied for network configuration can be found in
Section 3.2 Networking.
FOC Networking
In a loop, two panels can be connected using fiber optic cables via CAN/FOC adapters. The
CAN/FOC adapters from Phoenix Contact and EKX are available for this purpose (see
Section FOC Networking, page 27).
