Standard Bump Testing
During a standard bump test, the bump procedure and other procedures configured to
occur automatically on insertion are performed.
You must use Fleet Manager II software to configure the module to automatically
bump test a compatible detector on insertion. When a compatible detector is
inserted into the configured module, the bump test starts automatically after the
detector is recognized. Progress screens are displayed while the tests are
performed.
You may use Fleet Manager II software to configure the module to automatically
calibrate a compatible detector after a failed bump test. When a compatible
detector is inserted into the configured module and the bump test fails, then
calibration starts automatically. Progress screens are displayed while the tests
are performed.
1. Insert a compatible detector into the module. The LCD changes to gray and Detector
identification is displayed.
2. When the module is configured to perform a standard bump test and other
procedures on insertion, the LCD changes to yellow and Testing Alarms is displayed
after the detector is recognized. Go to step 6.
3. When the module is NOT configured to perform bump test or other procedures on
insertion, What do you need to do? is displayed after the detector is recognized. Go
to step 4.
4. Press or to select Bump test my detector. If the procedure is passcode-
protected, then enter the passcode and press to continue. Press to continue.
5. The LCD changes to yellow and the standard bump test begins. Progress screens are
displayed while the test procedures are performed.
6. When the bump test is successful, the LCD changes to green and Bump test passed
is displayed. If the module is configured to automatically download datalogs, then the
detector datalogs are transferred to the module after the test is complete.
7. Press to return to the What do you need to do? menu.
8. If the bump test fails, the LCD changes to red and the Bump test failed message is
displayed. indicates failed alarm and/or sensor test.
9. If the module is configured to automatically calibrate the detector when a bump test
fails, then the calibration procedure begins. To understand how to respond
appropriately to failed tests, refer to the detector operator manual.
