4. To close the drawer, tilt the drawer so it is flat. You will hear a
‘click’ sound.
5. Push the drawer back into the illuminator.
6. Close the door of the illuminator.
CAUTION
Since the INTERCEPT Process is dependent on the UVA light
reaching the product from both above and below, it is extremely
important that the tray remains clear, clean, and undamaged.
Do not attempt to service the UVA light sources or open areas of
the illuminator which are not described in this operating manual.
Contact a Cerus-authorized service company or representative for
assistance.
WARNING
If the blood product leaks into the tray, tilting the drawer could
cause the blood product to spill out. If the tray is above the
operator’s eye level, the operator should wear eye protection when
tilting the draw.
WARNING
Amotosalen in contact with skin may result in photosensitization in
the presence of ultraviolet light. If skin exposure occurs, flush
exposed skin copiously with water.
