6. Flight Controls - MOVE fore, aft, left, and right to verify that the
autopiloffyaw damper can be overpowered.

Alp DlSCrrRlM INTER Switch - PRESS. Verify that the autopilot
and yaw damper (optional) disconnects and all flight director
modes are canceled.
8.
TRlM - SET to takeoff position.

NOTE
When autopilot is turned on while airplane IS on tne ground.
tne control wheel should be held to prevent ailerons from
banging stops.
PREFLIGHT
NOTE
I
Perform steps 1 thru 12 prior to each flight.
1. INVERTER Switch - SELECT 1 or 2. Required for primary flight
instruments as well as for autopilot operation. Turn OFF prior to
engine shut down.
2. AVIONICS POWER 1 Switch
- ON.
3. Gyros -Allow 3-4 minutes for gyros to come up to speed.
4. All
AutopiloffFIight Director Modes - DISENGAGE or check
disengaged.
5. PRFLT TEST Button - PRESS and HOLD. All KFC-250 System
mode annunciators should illuminate, including the marker lights
on the KA-285 Mode Annunciator. In addition. the red
TRlM
failure light in the annunciator panel should flash'at least four but
not more than six times and be accomoanied bv an aural alert to
indicate correct trim monitoring.
