In addition to the visual indicator, a repeated series of tones is generated (see section A.2.6 Alarm
Tone Definitions). The alarm is nonlatching; that is, if the condition passes the alarm will automat-
ically reset (see section 6.5.4 Alarm Volume).
During a physiological alarm condition, trend data continues to be gathered.
Technical Alarms
Technical alarm conditions arise from conditions related to the equipment. Technical alarms are
presented with a message in yellow, either in place of the rSO
2
value or as a message in the upper
right corner of the screen, as shown in Figure6-4.
