Battery Capacity Alarm Notification
Battery operation symbol/gauge —Appears in the lower right corner above the naviga-
tion bar when the INVOS™ system is operating on battery power. When using A/C power, no
battery symbol appears. The symbol fill indicates approximate battery capacity. The “BATTERY
LOW” message and alarm tone accompanies the depleted battery/symbol gauge if the battery
power is critical. Plug into A/C power or turn on the master (mains) switch on the monitor back.
The battery has an approximate 20 minute operation capacity. Recharge time from 50% discharge
to full charge is approximately 20 hours and from 100% discharge to full charge is approximately
24 hours.
Alarm Tones
Medium-Priority Alarms
If audio alarms are not muted, when a medium-priority alarm condition is present, the monitor
issues a medium-priority alarm tone. The alarm tone is a burst of three short beeps on the same
pitch, repeated at 9 second intervals until the alarm condition is resolved. Medium-priority alarm
conditions are listed in Physiological Alarms and Technical Alarms.
Low-Priority Alarms
If audio alarms are not muted and no medium-priority alarm condition is present, when a low-
priority alarm condition is present, the monitor issues a low-priority alarm tone. The alarm tone is
a single beep, repeated at 16 second intervals while the corresponding visual alarm is presented.
Low-priority conditions are listed in Technical Alarms.
Silencing Audible Alarms
To silence audible alarms, press the HOME key to display the Main screen, then select the
ALARM AUDIO ON/OFF option.
Caution:
Selecting the ALARM AUDIO ON/OFF option will silence the audible alarms permanently until
reactivated or until the INVOS™ system is rebooted.
A bell appears in the upper right corner of the screen. To activate alarms again when channels
are silenced, select the ALARM AUDIO ON/OFF option from the Main screen.
