CBL-462-FPL-000 FRONT PANEL CABLE CONNECTIONS
The cable assemblies described in “Cable Requirements” on page 2-6 are available from
Curtiss-Wright by ordering individual cables by their part numbers. Should you need to
develop your own cabling solution, please refer to Appendix A of this manual for complete
interface pinout listings for the front panel interface (as well as the VPX P0 through P6
interfaces).
Front Panel Cable
J1 Connector
(USB)
When connected to the front panel of the CHAMP-AV8, CBL-462-FPL-000 provides access to a
USB 2.0 port via the J1 connector on the cable. This USB port connects to the Node A PCH
only. There is no front panel USB connection to the Node B PCH. The pin assignments of the
J1 connector are as follows:

J2 Connector
(EIA-232)
When connected to the front panel of the CHAMP-AV8, CBL-462-FPL-000 provides access to
EIA-232 Node A Serial Port 0 via the J2 connector on the cable. The pin assignments of the J2
(Female DB-9) connector are as follows:
The CHAMP-AV8 front panel cable is different than that used on the CHAMP-AV6, even
though the physical front panel connector is the same. To use the CHAMP-AV8 front panel,
the user must employ CBL-462-FPL-000.
