SYSTEM WIRING/CABLING
The connection and wiring procedure for the EBC Connection Module is described as
follows:
1. Make sure that all EBC Connection Module M12 connectors are not connected.
2. Use the PWR Cable AS-I to M12 crimping it on the AS-I Bus as described in the
instructions included in the AS-I cable package.
3. Connect the power supply cable to the PWR IN connector (with no other devices
connected) and apply power. The blue LEDs of the PWR IN and EXT ILL connectors
will turn on.
4. Once the proper connection to the power supply is established, disconnect the
power supply.
5. Connect the M12 pigtail connector to the Matrix reader.
6. Connect the ETH ports to other devices in the EBC ring.
7. If desired, connect EXT ILL to an External Illuminator. If the connector is not used,
do not remove the protective cap.
8. Power on the device.
INDICATOR LEDs
There are four indicator LEDs.
PWR IN and EXT ILL
These LEDs light up blue when power is properly applied to the EBC Connection Mod-
ule.
EBC 1
This LED blinks yellow when there is Link Activity on Port 1.
EBC 2
This LED blinks yellow when there is Link Activity on Port 2.
WARNING: To guarantee the module GND connection to Earth, the Bosch
frame on which the module is mounted must be connected to Earth.
