CBX CONNECTION BOX WIRING
PRODUCT REFERENCE GUIDE

ALL Profibus slave nodes other than the last one, must have ALL the switches set to OFF.
Profinet Interface
The Profinet interface is only available in the SC5100-100N and SC5100-102N Profinet
model and allows inserting the controller in a Profinet-IO network.
Two standard M12 4-pin D-Coded female connectors are provided on the SC5100’s
rightmost front panel for Profinet connections.
The Profinet interface is used for communication with a PROFINET-IO Host and allows
expanding the networking and remote diagnostic capabilities of the controller.
CBX CONNECTION BOX WIRING
As shown below, loose-lead cables must pass through the water-tight seals in the base
of the CBX connection box (CBX100 shown). Insert the cables allowing enough slack for
the individual wires to reach the appropriate pin block connectors. Securely tighten the
water-tight seals after the cables have been inserted.
NOTE: Bus termination switches are located on the back of the connector
panel for the Profibus IP65 connection.
ONLY the last slave node on the Profibus network must be terminated and
this can be done in one of two ways:
1. Connect a standard Profibus terminator onto the M12 Female con-
nector, (i.e Lumberg “SAC-5P-M12MS PB TRterminator). In this
case ALL the buss termination switches must be OFF.
2. If no standard Profibus terminator is used, set ALL the bus termi-
nation switches to ON. In this case install a connector plug onto the
M12 Female connector to maintain the IP rating.
ALL Profibus slave nodes other than the last one, must have ALL the
switches set to OFF.

WARNING: DO NOT connect a separate power source to the CBX connection
box. The CBX receives its power through its connection to the SC5100.
Connecting a separate power source will be detrimental to the system
operation.
