SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION
Adding new devices to the network
1. Make sure to have the latest software versions installed on all devices used in the
EBC network.
2. Connect to the SC5100 web page by:
• entering the SC5100 IP address in the browser (default 192.168.1.100), OR
• clicking on the SC5100 icon under the Device Selection menu in DL.CODE.
Then log on to e-Genius (refer to the SC5100 Product Reference Guide for more
information).
3. From DL.CODE, click on the SC5100 icon under the Device Selection menu and
connect to the device.
4. From e-Genius, go to System Info > EBC Devices.
5. Assign an ID node to the devices to be connected to the network. Note that all
devices outside the EBC network appear at the bottom of the page. If the list is
empty, click Discover Scanners and wait. Then add the node ID to the discovered
devices.
6. Click on
Update All to confirm the new configuration.
Configuration
7. From e-Genius, go to Global Settings > Operating Mode, and select the operating
mode for your application.
8. Go to Global Settings > Barcode Settings Table and select the symbologies to
decode.
9. From DL.CODE, connect to the Matrix reader to start configuration (it will appear
under the SC5100 cluster).
10. Configure the Matrix reader according to the Operating Mode selected on the
SC5100.
NOTE: The Matrix reader does not support Continuous mode.
