COMMAND USAGE
u Auto-negotiation must be disabled before you can configure or force a
Gigabit RJ-45 interface to use the Speed/Duplex mode or Flow Control
options.
u When using auto-negotiation, the optimal settings will be negotiated
between the link partners based on their advertised capabilities. To set
the speed, duplex mode, or flow control under auto-negotiation, the
required operation modes must be specified in the capabilities list for
an interface.
u The 1000BASE-T standard does not support forced mode. Auto-
negotiation should always be used to establish a connection over any
1000BASE-T port or trunk. If not used, the success of the link process
cannot be guaranteed when connecting to other types of switches.
u The Speed/Duplex mode is fixed at 1000full on 1000BASE SFP ports

and 10Gfull on the 10GBASE SFP+ ports. When auto-negotiation is
enabled, the only attributes which can be advertised include flow
control and symmetric pause frames.
PARAMETERS
These parameters are displayed:
u Port – Port identifier. (Range: 1-28/52)
u Type – Indicates the port type. (1000BASE-T, 1000BASE SFP

10GBASE SFP+)
u Name – Allows you to label an interface. (Range: 1-64 characters)
u Admin – Allows you to manually disable an interface. You can disable
an interface due to abnormal behavior (e.g., excessive collisions), and
then re-enable it after the problem has been resolved. You may also
disable an interface for security reasons. (Default: Enabled)
u Media Type – Configures the forced/preferred port type to use for
combination ports

Only applies to ports 23-24 on DG-GS4528FSE.)

Copper-Forced - Always uses the RJ-45 port.
n
SFP-Forced 1000SFP
- Always uses the SFP port at 1000 Mbps,
Full Duplex.
n
SFP-Forced
100FX - Always uses the SFP port at 100 Mbps, Full
Duplex.
n
SFP-Preferred-Auto
- Uses SFP port if both combination types are
functioning and the SFP port has a valid link. The speed is set by
autonegotiation, and the mode is fixed at Full Duplex. (This is the
default setting.)
