Step 3: Perform stationary mode checks
Check that all motors start normally. If one or more motors don’t turn, or behave unusually, do
not take off. In this case, perform the preflight checks again.
Once the motors are turning, but the drone is stationary, double-check the motor/propeller
direction. This should be checked visually.
4.1.2.4 Flight
Step 1: Takeoff
The takeoff process will vary, depending on the autonomy mode you are using. Follow the process
outlined for your desired autonomy mode.
Mapping mode
Initiate takeoff by slowly pushing the left stick on the controller (throttle) forward until Zoe lifts
itself off the ground (75% throttle).
After Zoe has lifted to a safe height, move the left stick back to the center position to hover Zoe
before performing any flight maneuvers.
Pilot Assist mode
For Pilot Assist mode, do everything outlined in Mapping mode, and then continue as follows:
Initiate a takeoff. There are two ways to do this:
Push up on the throttle
On the Master Controls, press the Auto-Takeoff button.
Zoe should ascend into the air and hover.
If VESH has been set to auto-enable, you may hear the audible warning sound while within the
VESH limit. Increase the height of the Zoe so that it is outside of the limit set. The audible warning
sound will stop.
Note
If the left stick is held in the bottom position for too long after arming, Zoe will
disarm.
