Adjustment A Adjusting the Paper Roll Near-end Detector Position
The minimum detectable amount of paper on the paper roll can be set by following the instructions below. The remaining
detectable amount differs depending on the inner and outer diameters of the paper roll core.
The dimension A values in the table are calculated from standard
measurements. Therefore, they may not be accurate for all printers.
If a paper roll with a red end mark at the paper end is used, the mark
may cause the paper to stick together. In this case, dimension A is
not correct.
If the paper on the paper roll becomes loose due to the paper quality,
the paper roll near-end detector may operate incorrectly.
Use a paper roll for which the inner
diameter (ød) of the paper core is
10 mm (.394") or more.
Select a near-end thickness A (the
thickness of the paper core includ-
ing the remaining paper on the roll)
according to the table below.
Loosen and then turn the Detector
adjustment screw to set the detec-
tor scale to the desired adjustment
value. (The numbers are not marked
on the detector scale.)
After the adjustment, make sure that
the Lever-N.E. detector moves
smoothly.
