4.3 ERROR TYPES AND
COUNTERMEASURES
Follow the flowcharts on the next page based on the
ERROR LED blinking patterns in the table below, and
repair the printer. The printer does the following when an
error occurs:
Stops all operations.
Goes off-line (when DIP SW2-3 is off).
Blinks ERROR LED.

ERROR LED Blinking Pattern
(1) This error can occur for a short time during normal printing, when the print head reaches a high temperature. No repair
is necessary in this case.
(2) A paper jam that occurred beyond the carriage movement area cannot be detected in this case.
(3) A paper jam that occurred after the paper passed through the cut sheet sensor cannot be detected in this case.

Error Description
Print head temperature is too high.
Home position could not be detected
properly due to paper jam in carriage or
other problem.
Carriage motor has gone out of step due
to paper jam in carriage or other problem.
Slip or validation paper is not ejected
properly after being advanced.
Read/write check has failed.
Power supply voltage is too high.
Power supply voltage is too low.
CPU is trying to execute an invalid ad-
dress.
Abnormally high current flows to the
mechanism drive solenoid.
