This example demonstrates how to create complex audio-follow-video functionality.
The goal of the feature is as follows: When the video switcher takes a camera, that cam-
era’s audio automatically fades up. When the switcher goes to a different source, the
camera’s audio automatically fades down. Any number of cameras may be implemented
limited only by the number of GPIs physically wired between the video switcher the
audio console. Different fade up/down times may be entered for different cameras.
For the purposes of illustration, it is assumed that four GPI outputs from the video
switcher are wired to the GP132 GPI inputs 1 thru 4. Taking a camera to PGM sends
logic “high” on its GPI. Taking a different source to PGM sends logic “low”. Audio for
cameras 1 thru 4 appears on audio channels 1 thru 4 (see Figure 11-8).
