3.10.1 Geometry definition
Machining on the face or side of the part.
When changing the type of machining, the CNC changes the icon and shows the corresponding
help screen.
Coordinates of the starting point (X, Z).
The coordinates are defined one by one. After placing the cursor on the coordinates of the axes to
be defined, the value is entered in one of the following ways.
Entering the value manually. Key in the desired value and press [ENTER].
Assign the current machine position.
Jog the axis with the handwheel or the JOG keys up to the desired point. Press [RECALL] so
the selected data assumes the value shown in the top right window and press [ENTER].
The top right window shows the tool position at all times.
Tapping must always be axial, at the rotation center (X0). For drilling, although usually done at the
rotation center, it is possible to define X with a value other than X0.
Total depth (L).
Place the cursor over this data, key in the desired value and press [ENTER].
Withdrawal distance (H) and approach distance (C).
Parameter H defines the distance for the tool to withdraw after each drilling peck. Parameter C
defines the distance from the previous drilling peck where the tool approaches in rapid. To define
these parameters, key in the desired value and press [ENTER].
Dwell at the bottom (t).
Define the waiting time in seconds, after each deepening, until the withdrawal movement starts. To
define it, place the cursor on this data, key in the desired value and press [ENTER].
Angular position of the machining operations (
,
).
The data indicates the angular position of the first machining operation and the data the angular
step between machining operations. To define them, place the cursor on the corresponding data,
key in the desired value and press [ENTER].
Number of operations (N).
Place the cursor over this data, key in the desired value and press [ENTER].
Dimensions of the slot (L, I).
"L" indicates the length of the slot and "I" its depth. To define them, place the cursor on the
corresponding data, key in the desired value and press [ENTER].
To select the type of machining, place the cursor over this icon and press the two-color
key.
