Why won't my Gerber Printer keyboard go to the orient message?
    • G
      Gary LongAug 7, 2025
If your Gerber Printer's keyboard won't go to the "ORIENT" message, check and reseat all connections on the boards in the Electrical Tower, paying special attention to the Spindle DUART card. If there's no change, remove the DUART and retry. If the "Orient" message appears, replace the DUART Card. If not, replace the Control Board. Check the #151 connection and harness connections at the Control Board, repairing or reseating as needed. Check all Keyboard connections at the Keyboard Support, repairing or replacing them as needed. Attach the Keyboard directly to the #151 Tower connection. If the "Orient" message appears, replace the Keyboard Table Cable. If not, replace the Keyboard Assembly.

    • M
      michaellawsonAug 13, 2025
If you encounter problems during Gerber Printer orientation, check the following: * Left limit switch or connection. * Front limit switch or connection. * Top limit switch or connection. Repair or replace any faulty components as required. Also, inspect for any mechanical obstructions inhibiting axis movement, such as debris or binding of mechanical parts. Finally, check the drive mechanism on the affected axis for slippage in the pulley-to-motor or pulley-to-leadscrew connections, and inspect the drive belt for damage.

How to test the emergency stop switch on a Gerber Sabre Printer?
    • L
      linda69Aug 19, 2025
To test the emergency stop switch on a Gerber Printer, activate each E-Stop Switch. If any do not trip the Tower Circuit Breaker, concentrate efforts on that Switch and attaching cabling. Check switches, cabling and harnesses for the E-Stop Circuit. If a +24 volts dc pulse gets to the Tower Circuit Breaker, but the Breaker does not trip, replace the Circuit Breaker. Also, check for loose connections or damage to cabling throughout the connecting cabling; repair or replace cabling as required.

    • J
      John JohnsonOct 25, 2025
If your Gerber Printer won't power up, start by checking the power cord to ensure it's properly connected and undamaged; reconnect or replace it as needed. Then, inspect the service panel for tripped or defective breakers, resetting or replacing them as necessary, and examine the outlet wiring for any issues. Also, verify the Emergency Stop Switch circuit is not active, and inspect the Transzorb on TB3 of the Power Input Panel, and the Electrical Tower Circuit Breaker Assembly. Further, check the LF1 input wiring and F2 fuse, replacing them if needed. Finally, check the A/C feed wires between LF1 and TB1, and between TB1 and the Power Supply, repairing or replacing them as necessary. If there's still no power, test for +5 volts dc output at connection J1-1 of the Power Supply regulator Boa...

What to do if my Gerber Sabre Printer powers up but displays errors?
    • T
      Travis MccormickOct 31, 2025
If your Gerber Printer powers up but shows errors, first check the Serial Interface Card to ensure it is properly seated onto the Driver Board, and try reinstalling it. If the issue persists, replace the Serial Interface Card. Also, check the "EMGNCY SW FAULT" Lamp on the Driver Board. Then, inspect the Up Limit Switch cable connection #165 at the Electrical Tower and in the Z-Hood Assembly on the Beam, and reseat/repair/replace as required. Check Motor and Encoder Cable Connections #163 and #164 at the Tower. If problems continue, swap Z Motor & Encoder Cables (#'s 163 & 164) with X Motor & Encoder Cables (#'s 154 & 155) at Tower and retry. In addition, check if the Beam is at the extreme rear of travel. Also, check Front/Back-Limit Cable connection # 160 at the Electrical Tower and the R...
